In March 2011, some of FHP's engineers went over to Naples, Italy, to assist in the loading of cable into the 7000Te carousel FHP manufactured for GMSL the previous year.

One of our young apprentices Liam Fitzgerald was asked to participate in a Career Path Choice Evening at Kenton School in Newcastle. Having recently gone through GCSE’s and entered into an modern apprenticeship with Rolls Royce, Liam was on hand to answer any queries and give a presentation on apprenticeships in Engineering.

Employees from FHP recently attended an awards evening at Tynemet college where FHP Administrator Vickie Blythe was named Tynemet College’s Service Industry Student of the Year 2010.

In July 2010 FHP successfully completed the build of one of the World's largest cable carousels. The colossal 26m diameter unit is capable of holding 7000Te of product. FHP also built a suite of equipment to complete a fully functioning offshore system:

When Falmouth Divers won the contract to renew the subsea power cables to the largest Wind Generators in the UK off the Northumberland coast at Blyth, they came to FHP, providers of subsea and offshore cable laying, and to see if we had the equipment to control the cable as it left the reel and was layed on the sea bed.

Wandfluh supply a range of high quality hydraulic valves to FHP for safe and hazardous area applications, FHP have an existing relationship with Wandfluh and in order to extend FHP’s appreciation of the development of new products, Wandfluh offered us the opportunity for some product training. The offer was accepted and the first of the FHP staff paid a 4 day visit to Wandfluh in late March 2008.
